1 California Police Dead, 1 Injured During Search Warrant Shooting

One California police officer died of a gunshot wound while another was injured while out on duty serving a search warrant on Monday.

Unfortunate Incident

Officials revealed few details of the incident on Tuesday which occurred at an apartment in San Luis Obispo’s Camellia Court. Authorities said the injured officer was reported to be in stable condition at a local hospital. In a Twitter post, police said the officers killed the alleged shooter.

The police department did not reveal the names of the involved officers and the suspected shooter, NBC News reported.

“This is a tragedy beyond measure for all of those who serve and care about our community. Our deepest condolences go out to the family. We are devastated by this loss,” San Luis Obispo City Manager Derek Johnson said.
