1 dead, 4 injured in Bay Bridge crash

A two-car collision on Bay Bridge killed a 22-year-old Antioch man and injured 4 on Sunday morning. 

The crash was reported at around 2:55 a.m on westbound Interstate Highway 80 on the bridge, west of Treasure Island. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, shortly before 3 a.m, a 2007 Infiniti M45 sedan slowed because of mechanical problems when it was rear-ended by a 2014 Nissan Frontier truck. 

The passenger seated on the rear seat of the Infiniti was declared dead, while other passengers, a 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, were hospitalized with major injuries. The driver of the Nissan suffered minor injuries, CHP said.

The driver of the Infiniti is a 22-year-old San Francisco woman who is under suspicion of driving under the influence. She was hospitalized and later arrested.
