A woman was killed while a man was critically injured at a Hayward shooting on Thursday.

According to the Hayward Police Department, the suspect is still at large.

Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Cassia Driver after receiving 911 calls of gunshots in the area. Officers found two gunshot victims inside the residence. Both were transported to the hospital.

The female victim is Monique Aldridge, 30. She was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The male victim is a 28-year-old man from Oakland in critical condition. His name is yet to be disclosed.

Police believe that Aldridge and the male victim were dating and living together when they were shot. A five-year-old boy was also at the scene.

According to police, the child belonged to Aldrige and a man named Vaughn Boatner.

Boatner, 33, is now wanted by authorities in connection to the incident.

Boatner’s residence was searched, but police did not find him. He is now considered at large, armed, and dangerous.

Boatner is described as a Black man, 6 feet tall, and weighs around 225 pounds.

The U.S. Marshals’ office is currently offering a $10,000 reward.

Anyone who knows Boatner’s whereabouts or has information about the shooting is asked to contact Detective Green at 510-293-7176.
