1 killed, 2 others injured in Stockton shootings; investigation underway

Two separate shootings have transpired in Stockton over the weekend, authorities said, which happened less than twelve hours in between, KPIX 5 reported.

One was confirmed dead and two others sustained injuries from the shootings, which are now being investigated by the police.

On Sunday morning, police officers received a shooting report. They responded to the location of Funston Avenue and Bradford Street.

There they saw a man, 42, whose name was withheld. Medics declared him dead at the scene.

There are no suspects identified or motive determined for the incident, investigators said.

Meanwhile, another shooting that happened Saturday evening left a man and a woman injured. Police said it transpired in a parked vehicle close to Stockton.

The shooting happened in the 6800 block of Lower Sacramento Road shortly after 8:00 in the evening.

According to the police, inside the car were a 28-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man who was approached by a suspect who fired at the victims multiple times.

Police said the two were rushed to a hospital and are in a safe condition.

But the suspects escaped on foot. Their identities and motives are not yet determined.
