19-Year-Old California Girl Found Three Months After Reported Missing

1 min read

Authorities said the body of a 19-year-old girl was discovered in Northern California after nearly three months of being reported missing by her family.

Mysterious Disappearance

A hiker in Siskiyou County found Tatiana Dugger’s body on Sunday in a remote area on federal soil about 8 miles outside Weed, the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office said. The victim’s body had signs of being in the area for an extended period.

Officials conducted DNA testing on Thursday, matching the body to the missing girl. Dugger’s family first reported she was missing from the Oakland area on January 9, 2021.

The victim’s family said the last place they saw Dugger was in Oakland. However, the victim was originally from Oroville and moved to Los Angeles from Butte County three months before the initial reports, KTLA reported.

“This is an ongoing investigation and additional circumstances surrounding Tatiana’s death will not be released at this time,” said the Butte County Sheriff’s Office in a statement.
