After a high-speed car chase on Saturday, Vallejo police arrested two juveniles, one was equipped with a loaded firearm with a high-capacity magazine.
According to the Vallejo Police Department, officers spotted a grey Volkswagen Tiguan traveling on Springs Road with its headlights off. The vehicle was also observed failing to stop at a red light.
Police pulled the vehicle over but it sped away. This resulted in a high-speed pursuit. A spiked Stop Stick placed by the police on the road ended the chase.
The driver exited the vehicle and ran from the scene while officers arrested the passenger as he attempted to flee. Police said they found a loaded firearm on the juvenile passenger.
An air unit from the California Highway Patrol helped find the juvenile driver who was hiding in a nearby apartment complex. Police discovered the driver was too young to have a license.
Both boys were arrested and placed in the local youth detention facility. Police have already contacted their parents.
