3.3-magnitude earthquake hits Union City

1 min read

A 3.3-magnitude earthquake was reported in Union City at around 6:22 p.m. Wednesday. According to the United States Geological Survey, the epicenter is near El Rancho Verder Park, east of Highway 238.

The quake comes after a large earthquake in Humboldt County killed two people on Tuesday.

Plane passengers also noted that flights into SFO circled over the airport after the earthquake hit.

SFO confirmed that an inspection happens after earthquakes, preventing planes from landing and taking off.

The measure was precautionary and took just five minutes.
