Three people died after a chain of stabbings in the South Bay.

The San Jose Police Department confirmed a carjacking and two stabbings Thursday afternoon and the Milpitas Police Department also responded to a separate stabbing.

One suspect is currently in custody.

The first stabbing happened at Kooser Road in San Jose around 3:11 p.m.

Shortly after, SJPD officers were dispatched to a separate stabbing resulting in a carjacking on the 1800 block of Hillsdale Avenue. The suspect tried to flee in a stolen car and hit a pedestrian.

Around 7 p.m., SJPD announced a suspect was arrested in Milpitas.

At this time, it is unknown if the San Jose stabbing or Milpitas incident occurred first.
