3 injured after San Leandro burglary leads to shootout

At least three people were injured after an attempted burglary turned into a shootout on Sunday morning. According to San Leandro Police Department, a burglary happened around 4:20 a.m. at indoor marijuana cultivation. 

SLPD officers responded at the 2000 block of Adams Avenue, where a shootout happened between the burglary suspects and the personnel from the marijuana grow site. 

A manager from the marijuana site, a security guard for the site, and one burglary suspect were hit by gunfire. 

According to authorities, the security guard is in stable condition. While the burglary suspect and site manager are listed in critical condition. 

The security guard is listed in stable condition, according to the release. The burglary suspect was shot at least once and is listed in critical condition. The site manager was shot multiple times and is listed in critical condition.

As officers arrived at the scene, they saw a U-Haul van speedily driving away. This led to a pursuit into Oakland, where the suspects left the van and fled in a newer model silver Jeep. One suspect was caught on foot by police. 

The chase ended at 31st Street and Martin Luther King Way where two more suspects fled on foot. 

According to police, the two suspects at large are described as two young Hispanic males dressed in dark clothing. 

SLPD will determine whether or not the marijuana cultivation on Adams Avenue was legal.
