Green Apple Books is a staple bookstore for book lovers and casual readers alike in San Francisco. The Clement shop has been in business since 1967 and is known for their extensive used book collection. Everything found within the store is sold at an incredibly reasonable price and oftentimes discounts are available. Although Green Apple offers a variety of used books, the store and its collections are very organized, so you can find used books in nearly perfect condition. The one thing that sets Green Apple apart from other bookstores in SF are the staff. Green Apple’s staff make every visit worthwhile, for they make sure you feel welcomed and leave with exactly what you were looking for and possibly more. The staff also leave reviews and descriptions on books within the store which makes the book hunt all the while both easy and fun. Green Apple Books is an icon of the San Francisco bookstore scene, and guaranteed to have something for everyone.

Omnivore Books on Food

Omnivore Books is perfect for foodies that have an insatiable appetite for books. Omnivore Books puts a delectable twist on traditional bookstores. The bookstore located in Noe Valley specializes in selling food related books like cookbooks, food reviews, to even old menus. The store is well organized with both new and vintage books, some of which can be signed from authors. The selection of books are fairly priced and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable on all things food. While the shop may seem niche, they follow some of the traditions of a normal indie bookstore in hosting book signings, author events, book clubs, among many others. If you are into food, cooking, or restaurants, Omnivore Books is bound to have something for you.

Borderlands Books

Borderlands Books is a peaceful and well-stocked bookstore located in the Mission District. Borderlands is known for its all-encompassing collections of fantasy, mystery, science fiction, and horror books. Furthermore, the shop has a nice mixture of new books and new classics from hardcovers to paperbacks to even art books. The staff are extremely helpful and attentive when answering any questions or concerns you may have. They host many great events throughout the year like release parties, ghost story readings, and author readings. Borderlands Books is the perfect spot if you are looking for a fun read.
