1 min read

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued four people and two dogs from their sinking boat, one mile off of Point San Pablo in the San Francisco Bay.

On Friday night, the U.S. Coast Guard Sector San Francisco watchstanders were informed that a boat with passengers was taking on water off the coast of Richmond.

The Coast Guard’s water rescue crew arrived around 9:55 p.m. and reported that they were unable to reach the boat because of shallow waters.

An aircrew arrived around 10 p.m. and deployed a rescue swimming to the scene. The helicopter crew performed multiple hoists on two separate trips to rescue all four passengers and dogs.

None of the victims were seriously injured.
