On May 24, four teenagers were arrested with five stolen catalytic converters.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the suspects were arrested near I-280 after trying to escape police.

Officers were called to the 1900 block of Alemany Boulevard at around 2:23 p.m. for a reported catalytic converter theft. A black sedan was seen fleeing the area.

The suspect vehicle was located near Fulton Street before it was pulled over near Edinburgh Street.

The suspects fled and the car was later found near Cambridge Street. After a brief foot chase, four suspects were taken into custody near the I-280.

The suspects were three 17-year-olds and one 15-year-old. Police also found three loaded guns, five catalytic converters, burglary tools, and other items used for burglaries.

Three suspects were booked into the Juvenile Justice Center, and the fourth was released.

SFPD said the stolen catalytic converters were returned to their owners.
