Authorities are investigating an incident where a 40-year-old man riding a scooter was allegedly shot in the SoMa neighborhood in San Francisco on Monday.

Unknown assailant

Some residents called police officers to report about the incident at about 4:12 p.m. First respondents to the scene discovered the victim with non-fatal injuries near Sixth and Minna streets at Columbia Square.

When officers talked with the caller, he said he did not see the attacker and was unsure of when or where the crime actually took place. Police have not yet made an arrest regarding the incident.

A public information officer with the police department, Officer Robert Rueca, said, “Officers searched for a crime scene, but no evidence of a crime scene was located.” Authorities, however, brought the injured victim to get treated at a local hospital, the San Francisco Gate reported.
