Another shooting rocks Miami-Dade; crime seems like a ‘war zone’, local says

More victims have lost their lives in a bloody shooting near Miami on Tuesday morning, adding to the increasing violent crimes in the county, police said.

The latest shooting has killed a woman and a man.

According to a local news outlet, the Miami-Dade police have responded to a ShotSpotter alert, an alarm for gun incidence in a certain area, and headed to the location close to the Brownville Village Apartments in Brownsville.

Authorities have found a vehicle that hit the fence at the scene. They have recovered a dead woman’s body inside the car. Another man was found with gunshot wounds, was rushed to the hospital, but died, according to the police.

Initial police investigations show that someone from another vehicle fired at the victims, police revealed to news outlets. Their car has crashed due to the drive-by shooting.

A television video footage showing the car hit the fence and left proof markers on the road was released.

A report by the WPLG showed that a bullet casing was found near each marker.  A total of 88 bullet casings in the area were recovered, the police said, as reported by WFOR.

The shooting was described by the locals as a “war zone.”

“They’re keeping the police so busy that the police don’t have an opportunity to catch them,” one of the locals told Local 10 News. “They [can’t] solve one murder before another murder is committed.”

“I was standing outside. All I heard was ‘Dun! Dun! Dun! Dun! Dun! Bam! Bam! Bam!'” another neighbor said. “Rapid shooting. We thought it was on the next block.”

“After it stopped, we just said, ‘Wow! What is this?’ Another shooting in Miami. Another killing is all we can sit here and say: ‘What is going on?’,” he added.

The identities of the two victims were not yet released by the investigators.
