An armed suspect was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after a standoff with police in Stockton.

At around 1:03 p.m., officers responded to the 9300 block of Fox Creek Drive after a report of a man pistol-whipping a woman. Police found the woman who had visible head injuries.

The suspect ran outside with a gun, jumped on fences, and got on a roof. When he came down, he was armed and confronted a uniformed officer.

The officer opened fire, and the suspect ran to the front porch of a home in the 9400 block of Lansdowne Drive. A standoff began until the suspect swallowed a pill. According to the police, they fired a less-than-lethal weapon and deployed a K-9.

Officers found two guns near the suspect, and he was taken into custody.
