Fall is not truly fall without a steaming and aromatic bowl of ramen. This authentic Hakata-style tonkatsu ramen restaurant has its branches in San Francisco, Oakland, and Redwood City. It prides itself with its authentic servings which feature milky and umami-rich broth made from boiling pork bones for long hours, ultra-thin artisanal noodles, and Cha-su sourced from carefully selected pork.

Marufuku Ramen is located at 1581 Webster St., Ste 235, San Francisco. The store is open from Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. / 5 p.m.-9 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. for takeout and delivery. 

Lois the Pie Queen

Under normal circumstances, you may want to enjoy Lois the Pie Queen’s comfort food right inside their restaurant. But during the pandemic, you can also bring Lois the Pie Queen’s warmth and Southern hospitality into your home by ordering take out. Lois the Pie Queen offers chicken and waffles that are perfect for Sunday mornings (and the other 6 mornings too). Don’t forget to try their sweet potato or lemon icebox pie, which tastes like slices of heaven.

Lois the Pie Queen is at 851 60th St., Oakland. They are open for takeout and delivery Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Lois the Pie Queen offers pies available for Thanksgiving pre-order until Nov. 20. 

Lion Dance Café

This café brings flavors from the Teochew Family Recipes, Singapore hawker favorite, and the legacy of Chinese American diaspora cooking. The store is currently doing a seasonal pumpkin laksa, with rice noodles, tofu puffs, roasted pumpkin, and pulled yuba in coconut soup. The store serves laksa on Fridays. Pre-orders are open Wednesdays.

Lion Dance Cafe is located at 380 17th St., Oakland. Lion Dance Café is open for dinner pickup Friday-Saturday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m..

Edith’s Pie

Thanksgiving is around the corner, and what’s Thanksgiving without pies? One of the things to be thankful for this year is you can now preorder an apple cranberry, maple pecan, or pumpkin pie from this famous Oakland eatery. Edith’s Pie offers a weekly pop-up every Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. Stay up to date as this store announces their pie of the week through Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter pages.

Final Thanksgiving orders will be available for preorder on Monday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m. at Edith’s Pie located at East Oakland.

This store makes the pizza that would probably be equivalent to fall. Their sought-after rectangular Detroit-style pizza is a squash carbonara pizza, made with crispy cheddar, squash carbonara sauce, bacon, shaved Brussels sprouts, and topped with a runny egg.
