California Driver Rampage Leaves 1 Dead, 3 Wounded

1 min read

A man in a truck in California went on a rampage on Monday, killing one and wounding three people in the incident.

Authorities said a man in a pickup truck rammed two people at around 9 a.m. in the Carmichael community, killing one person and injuring another. He later attacked people with a crowbar and pulled a gun before he was shot down by authorities, according to Sacramento County sheriff Sgt. Rodney Grassman.

The man initially hit one victim with his truck, but circled back and hit another person who was helping the first victim. The truck then took off, rear-ended a car, and then got out of the truck and attacked another vehicle with a crowbar, beating a woman inside the car.

The woman reportedly managed to escape the vehicle and was rescued by a private security guard. She suffered minor injuries.

The man then approached a nearby trailer home where he struggled with another person for the weapon. The suspect’s gun went off, but no one was hit, police said. Another person charged out of the trailer with a gun and shot the attacker in the upper body.
