Charged woman behind teen sex, alcohol parties on $10-M bail

A $10 million bail was set up against Shannon O’Connor, a 47-year-old woman behind teen drunken parties, who have been booked into the Santa Clara County jail.

A total of 39 criminal counts were slammed against the Los Gatos mom. She faces child abuse, sexual abuse, as well as giving alcohol to underage teens.

The investigation is ongoing whether the suspect has committed the same illegalities in Idaho where she was held in custody. O’Connor seemed to have transferred there along with her two sons.

The arraignment for her case is scheduled Wednesday at 1:30 in the afternoon, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office said, KRON4 reported.

A separate report by SFGATE said the suspect also goes by the name Shannon Bruga.

According to the news release by the sheriff’s office, “there were 10 underage boys and two girls at her home — most of whom spent the night there,” when detectives stormed her home on Wyatt Earp Drive on Saturday morning. The parents of the minors were contacted by the investigators before they were released.

The statement of facts said the party mom allegedly “bought vodka and Fireball whiskey, provided condoms, and discouraged the teens from telling their parents about the parties or calling for help when one of them passed out in their own vomit.”

In addition, O’Connor also texted and sent SnapChat messages to the minors, inviting them to come over to her residence in the middle of the night, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.

The office said the drunken parties, which the suspect hosted from last year to earlier this year, gathered the majority of 14- and 15-year-olds.

The investigation against the suspect started this summer, the Ada County Sheriff’s Office said, following the reports of a local family that O’Conner was moving to the Treasure Valley.
