Dead body found near San Francisco Ferry Building

A body was found near the Ferry Building on Sunday morning. 

According to the San Francisco Police Department, officers were called to Ferry Plaza due to a report of a dead body in the water. 

The San Francisco Fire Department recovered the body from the water around 10:21 a.m. The person was declared deceased on the scene. 

The Medical Examiner responded to the Ferry Building and took custody of the body. 

The Office of the Medical Examiner is leading the investigation. At this time, foul play is not suspected, according to SFPD. 

Authorities released no other information at this time.
