The California Highway Patrol reports that a Tesla with four Carmel Valley residents was killed when it crashed into a tractor-trailer rig.
According to authorities, the incident killed a mother and her three children.
The CHP says the family was in a Tesla and traveling east on Highway 156. The vehicle crossed the center divider and collided with the big rig head-on.
The driver of the truck had minor injuries.
An investigation is still ongoing.
