In recent years, it has also become a hub for the tech industry and a popular destination for young professionals. Its mix of culture, cuisine, and history makes it no wonder San Francisco is also home to many famous celebrities. From athletes to actors, musicians to moguls, here are some of the most famous celebrities living in San Francisco in 2022.

Mark Zuckerberg

Mark Zuckerberg, the famous co-founder, Chairman, and CEO of Facebook, who is now worth an estimated $67.7 billion, according to Forbes, resides in San Francisco with his wife Priscilla Chan. The couple purchased a house in the city’s Mission District for $10 million in January 2015.

With a net worth like that, you’d expect Zuckerberg to live in one of San Francisco’s most luxurious neighborhoods. But instead, he’s chosen to remain relatively close to Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park, about 22 miles south of the city. In fact, many tech billionaires have chosen to live in San Francisco over the years, including Larry Page, Sergey Brin, and Steve Jobs.

Rita Moreno

Rita Moreno is a world-renowned actress, singer, and dancer who has won multiple awards throughout her career, including an Oscar, a Grammy, and a Tony. She is also the first Latina to achieve EGOT status. She has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the National Museum of American History. Born in Puerto Rico, she moved to New York City as a young child and began her performing arts career at an early age.

Moreno has lived in San Francisco for over two decades now, and she loves it here. In a recent interview, she said: “I love San Francisco. It’s my favorite city in the United States…I just adore it here.”

Danny Glover

Danny Glover is an actor, director, and producer who is best known for his roles in the Lethal Weapon franchise and The Color Purple. He currently resides in San Francisco, California. Glover was born in San Francisco and raised in the city’s Fillmore district. He attended San Francisco State University, majoring in economics and administration. 

Glover is an active philanthropist and has been involved with several charitable organizations over the years. He is a board member of Amnesty International USA and has been a UNICEF goodwill ambassador since 2004.

Joan Baez

Joan Baez is a world-renowned musician and political activist who has made San Francisco her home for many years.

A folk singer and songwriter, Joan Baez first came to prominence in the early 1960s with her distinctive voice and guitar-playing style. She was an active participant in the civil rights movement and anti-war protests, and her music often reflected these commitments.
