Felon on bail accused of stabbing guard at SF Walgreens

1 min read

New information about the daytime stabbing at a Walgreens store in San Francisco’s Union Square has been released.

The recent incident happened around 8:15 a.m. on July 1, when the suspect stabbed a security guard guarding Walgreens at 135 Powell Street.

Sources say that Carlos Sanders, 61, has a history of causing trouble at that store. The guard asked the man to leave when Sanders pulled out a 4 to 6 inches long kitchen knife.

The security guard attempted to diffuse the situation by using a taser.

SFPD arrested Sanders a couple of blocks away and was booked on multiple charges, including attempted homicide and committing a felony while on bail.
