Police followed a tip-off from anonymous callers on Saturday evening, and arrested alleged gang members and recovered a couple of handguns in a Santa Rosa neighborhood, KPIX 5 reported.
At about 5:35 in the afternoon, two anonymous calls were received by investigators. The callers said a huge gathering on Kenton Court was affecting traffic, and one of the persons there swung a bat.
The anonymous callers said the attendees are all wearing red and suspected that they might be some sort of a gang.
To check the location, the SRPD deployed a drone, which confirmed the large gathering that extended towards the end of the court.
Then, officers were immediately deployed. About 15 persons began escaping as the officers approached.
Police managed to take into custody the two individuals namely Ramos Contreras, 25, and Adrian Liscano-Ramos.
Weapons were also seized from the operation – one, which was a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun, was seen near Contreras. The other – a 9mm semi-automatic handgun with a high-capacity magazine, was recovered under a car nearby.
