Google tests out dark mode for desktop search

Good news for all my dark-mode lovers out there! It looks like we might be getting the long-awaited night version of your most-loved Google search.

Google confirmed to The Verge, that it is currently testing out a dark mode for desktop search. If the test so happens to include you, your system is set to dark mode, and Google’s search pages are set into a very dark gray color.

Here’s what it looks like:

There’s no definite estimation of how widely the test is being conducted. However, a couple of people reports that they had their search pages automatically switch to dark mode. It’s also unclear if or when will the dark mode for desktop search officially launch.

“We’re always testing new ways to improve our experience for our users, but don’t have anything specific to announce right now,” Google said in a statement to The Verge.

However, this is not the first time that a dark mode test for Google desktop search has been conducted. Back in January, some people were seeing the test in application and had their pages turn dark.
