Heavy gunfire reported in SF’s SoMa

Heavy gunfire was reported in San Francisco’s SoMa neighborhood Tuesday. According to the San Francisco Police Department, the shooting occurred at the intersection of 9th Street and Minna Street before 1:50 p.m.

SFPD said that a vehicle was driving north on 9th Street when one or two people opened fire. Officers confirmed shell casings in the street after the shooting. 

No victim was found at the scene but police were later informed that a gunshot victim showed up at a hospital. 

There is no update on the victim’s condition. 

A white Mercedes Benz was seen leaving the area at high speed after the shooting. SFPD is unsure of the vehicle’s involvement in the case. 

There have been no arrests for the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and start the message with SFPD.
