A mother in Indiana is suspected to have shot her husband to death and cut off his limbs using an ax, reports said. She was also alleged to ask her children’s help to dispose of the victim’s body.

Authorities said that the 34-year-old Thessalonica Allen was caught for shooting Randy Allen, her husband, last July 27 in their apartment at LaPorte, Indiana.

The couple’s children were reported to have rushed to the bedroom where the crime happened when they heard gunshots, police said. They found their father pleading for help but they were stopped by Thessalonica to ring 911. Instead, the suspect told them to go to their room, as reported by Times of Northwest Indiana.

According to the teenagers, Thessalonica woke them up in the middle of the night to ask help loading Randy Allen’s body to her vehicle.

Court documents said the cadaver was too heavy.

The next day, Thessalonica brought home cleaning supplies and an ax. She again asked her children for help in putting the body inside a tote, the paper furthered.

“The children stated that mom had plans to take the vehicle and body to South Bend and set it on fire,” the police said.

Police followed the tip of one of the children’s fathers and arrested Thessalonica. The man, who is from Michigan, came into the apartment as Thessalonica allegedly told him that Randy hurt the child.

Thessalonica allegedly showed the dead body of Randy to the Michigan man. She also asked for help to dispose of the remains but the Michigan man disapproved.

“As they were driving back, she told (the man) that she had to shoot Randy because he was beating on her and the kids,” according to the police.

The suspect eventually admitted to having shot her husband after she was arrested.

“He beats me,” Thessalonica told the police.

Randy’s partially dismembered body was later found by the police inside a tote in their apartment.

“She then admitted she had to cut Randy’s legs off because she wasn’t able to fit him inside the tote,” police said, as reported by Times. “She stated she panicked and did not know what to do after she had shot him. She stated she used an ax to cut his legs off.”

Several charges were filed against Thessalonica to include murder, abuse of a corpse, and a couple of counts of contributing the delinquency of a minor, among others, FOX News reported.
