The Oakland Police Department launched an investigation of a shooting that occurred Tuesday in the 400 block of Lake Park Avenue.

The shooting reportedly happened after 3 p.m.

The Oakland PD Communications Division dispatched officers after receiving reports of a shooting. At the scene, police found evidence that a shooting had occurred.

However, there were no victims present.

OPD says the scene is active but declined to provide additional details at this time.

Shortly after, the Piedmont Police Department clarified the incident as a vehicle-to-vehicle shooting in Lake Park and Grand Avenue.

Piedmont PD located one of the two vehicles involved and made contact with the occupant who complied with instructions. OPD responded to the scene and assumed the investigation, Piedmont PD said.
