Man arrested for allegedly killing 50-year-old Pittsburg man

A man was arrested on Saturday for murdering a 50-year-old man in Pittsburg. 

According to the Pittsburg Police Department, officers were dispatched at 1:45 a.m. after receiving a report of a man assaulting an individual near Railroad Avenue. 

Officers found an unresponsive 50-year-old male victim on the ground at the scene. 

Life-saving measures were performed, but the victim succumbed to his wounds. 

Officers were able to track down the suspect, identified as Juan Mendez-Medina, 46. 

The 46-year-old was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on one charge of murder, police said.
