Man arrested for cold case homicide in San Jose

An East Palo Alto man was taken into custody on Saturday as he was linked with a 2017 homicide. According to the San Jose Police Department, Keith Dupee, 36, is accused of killing Samuel Choi, 63. 

Samuel Choi was stabbed on June 10, 2017, near Everglade Avenue and King Road. He was hospitalized but died of his injuries on June 18. 

At the time, police released a video of the suspect. However, he was not identified. Until September 2022, when new evidence reveals Dupee as the suspect. 

Police say Dupee is homeless, and his whereabouts are not known. On December 10, he was found in Selma, CA, and was taken into custody. 

Dupee was taken back to San Jose and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
