New pandemic requirements up in Santa Clara County amid omicron cases surge

1 min read

Fresh recommendations and vaccine mandates for workers were unveiled by Santa Clara County health officials, KRON4 reported.

In a press briefing Tuesday, Dr. Sara Cody said: “Less than two weeks ago, we noted that the Omicron variant was about to bring a deluge of new COVID-19 cases to Santa Clara County. Unfortunately, that deluge is now here.”

COVID-19 cases in the county have increased by three-folds over the last couple of weeks, she said.

Thus, a requirement for booster dose was announced for first responders who are most exposed to the virus in their workplaces.

First responders are given until January 24 to update their vaccine mandate.
