1 min read

The Sunvalley Shopping Center in Concord was evacuated after a report of a person with a gun Wednesday.

According to the Concord Police Department, the incident started at around 2:45 p.m. when a man walked into the jewelry store and said he had a gun. He then moved to the middle of the mall, prompting security to evacuate the mall and call the police.

Police used a drone to communicate with the man and convinced him to surrender. He was taken into custody at about 4:45 p.m. and nobody was injured. It is unclear whether a gun was recovered.
