A Tesla with two occupants crashed on a tree after the vehicle hurtles off the lane, leaving one dead.

According to the California Highway Patrol, on Saturday around 3:43 p.m., a 2023 Tesla 3 was running at high speed, heading south on San Felipe Road. The driver failed to navigate a turn and collided with a tree. The vehicle continued to run southbound, overturning several times before coming to rest by hitting a second tree.

The 24-year-old passenger was wearing a seatbelt and managed to climb out of the car after the crash. He was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

CHP says alcohol or drugs can be a factor in the collision.
