1 min read

Thursday, a Petaluma Transit bus involved in a single-vehicle collision injured a bus driver and a passenger.

The bus was traveling south on Marie Drive approaching East Washington when it steered off the roadway and struck a fence on the south side of Maria Drive, according to the Petaluma Police Department.

Only one passenger was with the driver at the time of the collision. They both sustained minor injuries and were treated by Petaluma Fire Department Paramedics.

The traffic control system that controls signal lights for the intersection was damaged in the incident. As of Thursday evening, crews were working to repair the damage, which might take several days, while temporary stop signs and lights have been put in place at the intersection.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Petaluma PD Traffic Unit at (707) 778-4372.
