San Francisco investigators released new photographs and video recordings showing a suspect who allegedly attacked a victim in the city’s downtown area in a pickup truck jacking in an attempt to gather useful information from the public.

Attempted Carjacking

Police said the assault occurred at around 1:10 a.m. on April 7 at Geary and Stockton Streets. They said the owner of the vehicle confronted the suspect to try and stop him from stealing the truck. However, he sustained life-threatening injuries and is still in the hospital.

Video footage of the incident showed the suspect wearing a red hoodie approaching the victim who was wearing a black and tan jacket. Authorities have found the pickup truck but are still trying to locate the suspect.

The San Francisco Police Department’s Crimes/Burglary Unit is leading the investigation and turned to the public to gather the information that could bring the suspect into custody. They are also asking for any witnesses of the crime to come forward and share their experiences of the incident.

Investigators urged the public to report any information they may have that could lead to the arrest and identification of the suspect, CBS Local reported.
