An American Airlines passenger was arrested in South Florida on Wednesday after he was alleged to have opened the emergency exit and walked on the plane’s wing.

According to officials, the incident occurred on a newly-landed American Airlines flight in Miami from Colombia at around 7:30 in the evening.

The person was suspected to have left the plane as it arrived at the Miami International Airport terminal.

“During deplaning in Miami, a customer on American Airlines flight 920 with service from Cali, Colombia (CLO) to MIA exited the aircraft via an emergency exit. The customer was immediately detained by law enforcement. We thank our team members and law enforcement for their professionalism and quick action,” according to American Airlines spokeswoman Whitney Zastrow, in a statement to Fox News

The passenger was an American citizen, according to a report by Miami’s WPLG-TV. He was identified as 33-year-old Christian Segura.

Authorities said he jumped off the plane’s wing when officers reached the location.

While the incident did not cause any harm to other passengers or any delays in the operations, the station said that the person was already put under the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents’ custody.
