A police chase that began from the city of Ceres ended in a crash at a residential Oakland neighborhood Friday.
Ceres police have not disclosed what started the pursuit, but around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, an SLPD officer found the suspect vehicle in San Leandro. SLPD attempted a traffic stop, but a chase happened instead.
The pursuit ended when the suspect’s vehicle crashed near the intersection of 73rd Avenue and Hilmont Drive, a residential area in Oakland.
Police said the driver was alone in the vehicle and had minor injuries from the accident. He was taken into custody.
