UFC 256: Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno may take Fight of the Year.
There may not have been an official winner declared in the meeting between UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno at UFC 256, but both men were certainly not losers after putting on an absolute display in the main event title fight — putting up a big argument for Fight of the Year.
Both men came into this fight on just 21 days’ notice, with both men competing and earning first-round victories on the UFC 255 card on Nov. 21. In fact, Figueiredo made history in this fight by becoming the champion with the quickest turnaround between title defenses in UFC history.

The fight was an absolute war, with both men bringing high-paced, technical energy for 25 straight minutes inside the Octagon. Both men tagged each other multiple times throughout the fight, but neither was able to be stopped as they traded on and on.
There was a scare during the third round, where Figueiredo was deducted a point for a major low blow, but the fight carried, with some in the MMA community even thinking Moreno took control of the striking battle by this point.
In the end, every round was just simply too close to call. And while one judge gave the fight to the defending champ 48-47, the other two ended up with 47-47 scores, declaring the fight a majority draw.
