A father dies after saving his son from drowning at Lake Berryessa in Napa County on Sunday.

According to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post, around 3 p.m.,  police received a report that Marciallo Perez, 35, was drowning in the lake.

Witnesses said Perez jumped into the water to save his drowning son. The son survived. However, Perez’s body was only recovered at 4:17 p.m.

Authorities said Perez’s son is “young” but did not confirm his age. The incident is the second drowning case in the last six days, the Facebook post says.
