A 42-year-old man was found dead on Tuesday after officers found him inside a Pittsburg home with at least one gunshot wound. The incident occurred on the 900 block of Carpino Avenue. Police determined this as a homicide case and have identified a suspect. Pittsburg man James Maurice Ector, 41, is accused of being responsible for the homicide. As of Thursday afternoon, Ector’s location is unknown. Police are instructing the public not to approach Ector as he is “armed and dangerous.” A photo of Ector can be seen above. A doctor charged with attempting to murder his entire family by driving their Tesla over a cliff along Highway 1 appeared in a San Mateo County courtroom on Wednesday. Dharmesh Patel, 41, of Pasadena, could face a life prison sentence if his case moves to a trial and he is found guilty. His defense attorney is fighting to divert the case out of the criminal court system and into a mental health diversion program. If the case is diverted, Patel could be freed from jail. A truck driver lost control and crashed into two Piedmont homes on Wednesday night. According to Piedmont Police Department, the truck has a trailer with a forklift attached to it. It crashed in between two houses on the 1100 block of Park Lane. No injuries were reported from the collision. Police said the driver of the truck was arrested after displaying symptoms of being under narcotic influence. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail. After searching his truck, officers discovered a gram of suspected black tar heroin and drug paraphernalia.
