SFPD searches for suspect who assaulted elderly man

The San Francisco Police Department is seeking public health in finding a man who was caught on video assaulting an elderly man. 

The incident happened on January 8, in Natoma Street and New Montgomery Street at about 7:39 a.m. According to the 78-year-old victim, the attack was unprovoked. 

SFPD said that the victim was unable to stand up on his own after the attack. He was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.  

The suspect fled on foot and was described by police as a white or Hispanic male. He is in his late 30s or early 40s with a short beard. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt with white writing, a white shirt, and black-and-white shoes.
