MATTOON — A Mattoon woman has been charged with felony aggravated battery with a lethal weapon for allegedly capturing and wounding a man with a crossbow throughout a home dispute.

The Coles County State’s Attorney’s Office filed the cost towards April D. Dixon, 41, after the Mattoon Police Department arrested her at 3:30 a.m. Monday on the police station. Police stated Dixon shot the man in the forehead with a crossbow throughout a home dispute earlier that morning in the 700 block of North twenty second Street. Police stated the man was taken to the hospital for therapy and was later launched.

Following her arrest, Dixon was transported to the Coles County jail. The state’s legal professional’s workplace additionally has filed a misdemeanor cost of home battery with bodily hurt.
