Surveillance Video Shows Car Break-In At Popular SF Tourist Spot

1 min read

Surveillance footage captured a criminal in the act of breaking into a car parked at Fisherman’s Wharf on Wednesday.

A mother and daughter, whose names police officers refused to share, drove out from Chicago to visit the Fisherman’s Wharf on Wednesday. The pair had returned to their vehicle parked on Beach Street only to find its windows broken and their valuables missing.

“I love San Francisco, this is not what I think of it,” the toursit said. “We rode the bridge and came back and going to eat we both said ‘it’s going to happen.'”

Footage of the incident showed a man wearing a black hoodie breaking into the car. Plenty of other people also saw the incident, with one set of tourists pulling out their phones to record it.

“I heard glass shattering on the ground and I turned around and I saw this guy who had just broken the window and he jumped into the back of the car and jumped in his car which was parked next to where he was going to go back in,” Sandy Doyle of Florida said.
