1 min read

The suspect who attempted to rob a bank Thursday afternoon was arrested.

According to the Walnut Creek Police Department (WCPD), the suspect tried to rob the U.S. Bank on Civic Drive but was unsuccessful.

The U.S Bank at 1655 N Main St. is across from the WCPD station.

The suspect was Douglas Crosby, 45, of Walnut Creek.

Around 1:45 p.m., officers received an alarm from the bank and discovered the suspect was still inside the building.

Businesses nearby were instructed to evacuate, and police arrested Crosby without incident.

No injuries were reported from the attempted robbery, and no weapons were involved, WCPD said.

Crosby was booked into Martinez Detention Facility without bail “due the parole hold,” the department said. He was charged with violating his parole, along with robbery.

There were no additional suspects.
