1 min read

Two men were arrested in connection to the string of armed robberies, including stealing two French bulldogs.

According to Hayward police, they were able to arrest one of the suspects after a several-hour standoff. The suspect was involved in at least four robberies, three of which occurred in Hayward.

In one of the robberies, two French bulldogs were stolen. One of the puppies, Chapo, was recovered during the standoff on Geneva Avenue.

The second puppy, who goes by Square and is about three months old, is still missing.

Anyone with information about Square’s whereabouts is asked to call Detective Scinto at 510-293-3390.

This was a joint effort by the Hayward Police Department, the Sacramento Police Department and the Union City Police Department.
