A non-stop investigation is being conducted by Sonoma County violent crimes detectives on the ‘suspicious’ death of a 33-year-old woman, KRON4 reported.

In a statement Tuesday, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said: “We understand there is a lot of public interest on this case. Our #1 priority is to find out how and why Ms. Dillon died, bringing her justice and providing closure for her family.”

Willits resident Amber Dillon was found lifeless on Jan. 7 in a remote area off Cloverdale’s Highway 101.

“A California Highway Patrol Officer was flagged down by a community member in the area of Geysers Road and Highway 101 regarding a possible deceased body,” Sheriff’s Sgt. Juan Valencia said in a written statement.

The victim’s body was recovered by the sheriff’s Violent Crime and Crime Scene Unit. They also looked through the wooded area to gather evidence.

As of writing, there are no further details on her death.
