Teenager arrested in Redwood hammer attack

A 17-year-old Redwood City resident was arrested in an armed robbery where two juveniles were hit with a hammer last weekend. 

According to the Redwood City Police Department, on July 8, the two juveniles were attacked and robbed in the Jefferson underpass. 

One of the suspects was armed with a hammer, and both victims were hit. One victim was struck in the eye, causing serious injury. 

One of the primary suspects was positively identified and arrested on Tuesday. 

He was booked into juvenile hall on felony charges of armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

Police also served a search warrant at his residence and seized evidence of the crime.
