Last Friday, an Australian singer who is well-known in TikTok was victimized in a robbery incident and was held by criminals at gunpoint.
Songwriter Clinton Kane maintains 1.5 million TikTok followers and 12 million Spotify listeners monthly.
The singer said he was in the Cow Hollow neighborhood for a music video and documentary shoot when the crime happened. Two men allegedly held him at gunpoint and took away his camera equipment with $30, 000 in value.
“Our things got f—kin’ stolen, everything’s f—kin’ broken, glass … and two guys f—kin’ pulled out their guns to us. … It’s quite great,” Kane exclaimed in an Instagram video Friday, as he showed his wrecked GMC Yukon.
In a statement to KPIX, Kane said the criminals pushed them to settle on the floor “with our hands raised.” Kane said he was having a meal on Filbert Street, at Rooster & Rice nearby, when the crime happened.
All the footage he recorded in San Francisco was also gone along with his camera equipment, he shared to KPIX. He said he plans to use the material to hype a forthcoming album.
“PLEASE BE SAFE WHEREVER YOU ARE MY FAMILY LOVE YOU SO SO MUCH U ARE EVERYTHING TO ME,” he said in an Instagram post.
As part of the upcoming tour, the singer is set to go back to San Francisco on Dec. 5.
SFGATE reached out to Kane’s camp and the San Francisco police for comments but the requests were not responded to immediately.
