Two people injured in separate Oakland shootings

Two people were shot in separate shootings within 30 minutes in Oakland on Wednesday. 

According to the Oakland Police Department, the first shooting happened around 2 p.m. when the OPD’s Communications Divisions received a report of gunshots in the 9800 block of A Street. 

When officers arrived at the location, they were unable to find a victim. 

Around 2 p.m., OPD received reports that there was a walk-in gunshot wound patient at a local hospital. The victim said they were on 98th Avenue and International Boulevard when they were shot. 

The first victim is in stable condition. 

The second shooting happened before 2:30 p.m. at 29th Avenue and Glascock Street. According to OPD, officers were dispatched to the scene and located a person hit by gunfire. 

The Oakland Fire Department and emergency medical personnel performed medical care on the victim before they were transported to the hospital. 

The victim is in serious but stable condition.
