United States Vice President Kamala Harris returned to the Bay Area for the first time since taking office to build support for President Joe Biden’s proposed $2.3 trillion infrastructure plan for the country.
Massive Infrastructure Plan
Harris will visit the region on Monday morning to endorse Biden’s plan of rebuilding the United States’ “crumbling” roads, bridges, railways, and other infrastructure. Officials believe the project would rival the space race in its scope.
When she visits the region, the vice president is scheduled to tour a local facility that operates to provide clean water to residents. Harris will also be set to host a listening session with state leaders and small business owners based in Oakland.
Harris is expected to arrive in the Bay Area at around 8:45 a.m. and visit Southern California at about 2:30 p.m later that day, NBC Bay Area reported.
