The Ada County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that a Los Gatos woman, 47, who allegedly hosts parties with teenagers with sex and alcohol, is now detained in Boise, Idaho.

Shannon Bruga, who also goes with the name Shannon O’Connor, concerns sheriff’s office detectives as she might also encourage sex acts among teenagers in Idaho and California.

The sheriff’s office said “there were 10 underage boys and two girls at her home — most of whom spent the night there” when detectives stormed her home in Wyatt Earp Drive in Boise suburb of Star on Saturday morning. The minors’ parents were informed by the investigators before their release.

According to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, Bruga faced 39 criminal counts in California, which includes sexual assault, felony child abuse, and provision of liquor to minors. If convicted, Bruga will be imprisoned.

The statement of facts said that she allegedly “bought vodka and Fireball whiskey, provided condoms, and discouraged the teens from telling their parents about the parties or calling for help when one of them passed out in their own vomit.”

The suspect also invited teenagers through Snapchat or text to go to her house in the middle of the night. Bruga cautioned the teenagers not to tell about the parties as this could send her to jail, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office’ press release said.

The office said the parties were hosted from last year to earlier this 2021. It usually gathers teens ages 14 to 15.

The investigation against Bruga started this summer, the Ada County Sheriff’s Office said, as authorities responded to a local family’s report that the suspect was moving to the Treasure Valley, SFGATE reported.

According to the family, they knew the suspect on the Internet. They met last spring in Boise when the woman looked for a new residence in Idaho.
